Cusco Shaman Tour

So, the much anticipated Peruvian Shamanic experience is underway.

Another view of Cusco

Day 1, we were lead just outside the city for an opening ceremony by an Andean priest. This was a really beautiful ceremony where we focused on giving thanks to Mother Earth :-)

The rest of the day we wandered back towards the city, visiting ancient sites along the way. This included a couple of underground temples and Sacsayhuaman which is an amazing structure. This is over 1000 years old and still the huge carved rocks have still not moved. The enormous structure was originally much larger, but the Spanish removed the smaller stones from the top of the wall for building cathedrals.

...and to give you some perspective on how big that wall is
Day 2 we explored the city by foot checking out the local markets where I had a chance to check out some of the local medicinal herbs - yay! :-)

Later on, we explored the lay lines and energetic centres of the city, stopping to meditate at some of these ancient sacred places.

...And caught this cute alpaca trying to escape :-)

Anyway, back to fighting off this altitude-induced insomnia ;-)
